What is the history of the school?
Sioux Center Christian School has a rich history of serving the Lord. Established in 1905, the school has educated students from a Reformed perspective for over 100 years and continues to do so today. A dedicated faculty, staff, and board enjoy working with His covenant children, fullfilling the mission to develop in each of God's children a knowledge and understanding of Christ and His creation so that they can obediently serve God and others as they work and play. We look forward to discussing with you what God is doing through Sioux Center Christian School!
Do you have a hot lunch program?
Yes we do. Hot lunch is served every school day to the students at a cost of $1.90 per meal. We are also a part of the free/reduced hot lunch program for those families who qualify. (This is bases on family income)
Do you have buses?
Yes. We share busing with the Community School. SCCS runs one route and the Community school about nine. The SCCS busses are allowed to go out of the school district to pick up SCCS students. The Community School is not.
What is your enrollment?
For the 2008-09 school year, we have a total of 375 students, grades K-8. Three sections of Kingergarten and first grade with class sizes ranging from 11-16. SCCS has two sections in grades 2-8. Class sizes range from 17-25.

Tuition costs will be billed to the parents on a ten month schedule. Fair Share is what is collected through the churches, gifts and projects. Parents are not charged the Fair Share portion, but they are encouraged to pay as much of it as possible and to be active members of the Fair Share program.
How often do the Kindergarteners meet?
During the first semester all kindergarten classes meet three days a week (Mon., Wed., and Thurs.). During the second semester some sections will meet three and some will meet five days a week. Parents have the option to choose for the second semsester
Do you have support programs?
Yes, we have Band, Orchestra, Library, Resource Room, Discovery Room (TAG), a computer lab with two mobile labs, Science lab, Remedial Reading, Inter- and Intramural athletics (soccer, volleyball, basketball and track and football with the Christian high schools), 6-8 Art teacher, guidance counselor.
Governance?
SCCS is a non-profit corporation of individuals, including all parents of enrolled children, who meet at least annually to elect members to a board of directors and adopt a budget. The board, through its administrative staff, assumes day-to-day operation of the school, including supervision of employees, curricula, finances, and facilities.
Do you have a Moms - In - Touch program?
Yes, a very active and healthy program that meets each Tuesday.
Is there a parent's organization?
Yes, the Guild is made up of parents and supporters who hold fundraisers to help support the funding of the school. Also, several events are held to simply build up the promotional aspect of the school.
