Why I Choose to Serve at SCCS
I enjoy teaching at Sioux Center Christian because SCCS recognizes the Lord as King of creation in every part of the educational experience. Teachers are ready to transform all activities and studies into an expression of biblical wisdom and train students to walk as disciples of Jesus Christ. SCCS has wonderful parental support. Together, we work with parents to continue their child's Christian education already started at home.

Why I chose to serve at SCCS
I am ecstatic to join the Sioux Center Christian School staff! I hope to guide students in becoming all that God has created them to be. Not only will students grow in their own faith and learn more about God’s creation but I, in turn, will grow alongside them. This is an exciting new journey and I am ready to see God work through this community!

Why I choose to Serve at SCCS
SCCS is where I, as a junior high student, first fell in love with teaching. I am excited and honored to be back where it all began for me. As a Christian school teacher, I have the privilege of helping students navigate and respond to the world around them in a way which displays God’s grace. Children, especially junior high students, are constantly asking who they are and where they fit in the world. As a teacher at SCCS, I can be a guide in helping them find their place in living out God’s story. SCCS has changed a great deal since I was a student here, but one of the constants has been the goal of pointing students toward loving discipleship of their heavenly Father.

Why I choose to serve at SCCS:
Martin Luther King Jr. once said, "The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education.” At SCCS there is an incredible opportunity to connect the academic aspect of education, with the character development that is established through faith development in every subject. At SCCS we have the distinct opportunity to train the mind and the heart of the students in our classrooms. Through our partnership with the parents of SCCS, we are giving each student the tools necessary for them to go into the world and truly be a world changing disciple for Christ!

I teach at SCCS because I have the freedom and opportunity to not only instruct my students academically and in the areas of social issues, but also spiritually, which is my main focus. I challenge them, guide them, and encourage them to see the need to be in a loving relationship with the Lord and to strive to live for Him. I get to teach them to come to see the Bible as the story of their life, to claim Christ's promises for themselves, and to strive to live for him in all they do.

Why I choose to serve at SCCS
I believe that God has called me to teach music, using my strengths and weaknesses to grow His children. Every Christian has been tasked with giving God their best. As Paul states so clearly in Colossians 3:17—“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him”. My hope is that I can teach the students to praise Him using their voice or instrument, giving Him their best.

Why I Choose to Serve at SCCS
My parents truly worked hard to make Christian Education a priority which has made a dynamic impact on my life. I can’t help but to relish in the joy and awe of Christ’s love for us and am eager to share that love with my students. The main reason physical fitness is so important is because we are created in God’s image and we must actively take care of the body that he has given us. I am excited to teach that to my students.
