Sioux Center Christian School has a rich history of serving the Lord.  Established in 1905, the school has educated students from a Reformed perspective for over 100 years and continues to do so today. 

A dedicated faculty, staff, and board enjoy working with His covenant children, fulfilling the mission to disciple God's children by equipping them with a knowledge and understanding of Christ and His creation so that they can obediently serve God and others as they work and play.

Faculty and Administrative Positions Currently Available

If you wish to apply for faculty positions, please submit the SCCS Faculty Application (located to the right) with all required materials to Josh Bowar, Head of School.

  • RESOURCE TEACHER POSITION OPENING:  Due to increased enrollment, Sioux Center Christian School is advertising for a full-time resource teacher position, beginning August 2020.  The position will be responsible for working with tier 2 students in grades TK-2 in reading, math, and other areas through individual and small group support.  The ideal candidate for the position is someone who loves God, loves kids, loves working with a team, and loves learning.  The person should have an understanding of the Response to Intervention (RtI) and Teaching for Transformation (TfT) frameworks, or the willingness to learn.  The person should also have the Iowa K-8 or K-12 Instructional Strategist I endorsement or the willingness to obtain that endorsement.  Interested applicants should complete the faculty application package, include all requested materials in the package, and forward those materials to Josh Bowar, head of school, at jbowar@siouxcenterchristian.com.  A review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.

  • MIDDLE SCHOOL SOCIAL STUDIES/BIBLE TEACHER POSITION OPENING:  Due to increased enrollment, Sioux Center Christian School is advertising for a full-time middle school social studies/Bible teacher position, beginning August 2020.  The position will be responsible for teaching social studies and Bible in the middle school.  The ideal candidate for the position is someone who loves God, loves kids, loves working with a team, and loves learning.  The person should have an understanding of the Response to Intervention (RtI) and Teaching for Transformation (TfT) frameworks, or the willingness to learn.  The person should also have the Iowa K-6 Teacher Elementary Classroom with the 5-8 Middle School Generalist or 5-8 Middle School Social Studies endorsements or the willingness to obtain them.  Interested applicants should complete the faculty application package, include all requested materials in the package, and forward those materials to Josh Bowar, head of school, at jbowar@siouxcenterchristian.com.  A review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.

Staff Positions Currently Available

If you wish to apply for staff positions, please submit the SCCS Staff Application (located to the right) with all required materials to Josh Bowar, Head of School.

  • HEAD COOK POSITION OPENING:  Sioux Center Christian School is advertising for the position of head cook, with the position being 5 days and 30 hours/week when school is in session and a start date this spring (negotiable with the right candidate) for training purposes.  The person will supervise and manage the daily operations of the school lunch program, working in partnership with the director of food service.  The head cook will maintain inventories, supervise food preparation, check food shipments, organize substitute cooks, oversee the kitchen and kitchen staff, and provide an overall welcoming atmosphere in the kitchen and lunchroom.  The head cook should have a heart for kids, for service, and for God.  The ideal candidate is someone who is willing to learn, has a strong work ethic, is dependable, communicates well with others, and can provide leadership for others.  The school is prepared to provide training for the right candidate.  Interested applicants should submit the staff application and a resume to Josh Bowar, head of school, at jbowar@siouxcenterchristian.com.  A review of applicants will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
  • COOK POSITION OPENING:  Sioux Center Christian School is advertising for the position of cook, with the position being 4 days and 20-25 hours/week when school is in session and a start date this spring (negotiable with the right candidate) for training purposes.  The cook will prepare and serve meals, assist with clean up duties and procedures, work as a team member with the other cooks, and provide a welcoming atmosphere in the kitchen and lunchroom.  The cook should have a heart for kids, for service, and for God.  The ideal candidate is someone who is willing to learn, has a strong work ethic, is dependable, communicates well with others, and can follow multi-step directions.  The school is prepared to provide training for the right candidate.  Interested applicants should submit the staff application and a resume to Josh Bowar, head of school, at jbowar@siouxcenterchristian.com.  A review of applicants will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.

  • BUS DRIVERS (any combination of route or activity bus driving):  The school will pay for all expenses related to securing a license and/or training costs.
