DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT (FULL-TIME) with a hopeful start date of June 1, 2022:  Do you have a passion for serving God’s kids and want to be part of a vibrant learning community?  Sioux Center Christian School has a rich history of serving the Lord.  Established in 1905, the school has educated students from a Reformed perspective for over 117 years and continues to do so today.  A dedicated faculty, staff, and board enjoy working with His covenant children, fulfilling the mission to disciple God's children by equipping them with a knowledge and understanding of Christ and His creation so that they can obediently serve God and others as they work and play.

We are seeking to fill the role of director of development.  This position serves in a leadership role at SCCS and works directly with the head of school.  The focus of the position is providing leadership to the development/admissions/communications team and working to meet giving goals for school initiatives.

The ideal candidate will be someone who:

  • Has a heart for God and His kids
  • Can articulate the philosophy of Christian education, a Reformed Christian perspective, and the distinctiveness of SCCS
  • Is equipped to tell stories of what God is doing at SCCS
  • Demonstrates the ability to meet people comfortably and engage in substantive conversation while regularly spending time and connecting with present and potential school supporters
  • Is comfortable creating and working toward giving goals and benchmarks
  • Provides leadership, strategy, accountability, and support for the development/admissions/communication team
  • Oversees the growth of the SCCS foundation and serves on the foundation board
  • Possesses exceptional decision-making, relationship-building, and communication skills
  • Creates and implements a sustained plan to generate funds for SCCS while keeping accurate records
  • Has interest in connecting with area churches
  • Oversees all school development efforts, in partnership with the head of school and school staff
  • Can collaborate with other support staff, teachers, and members of the SCCS team
  • Has a servant heart and a passion for Reformed Christian education and faith nurturing

Qualified applicants include those with a background in development, business, communications, and other related fields and the willingness to learn and grow.

We are seeking to fill the role of custodian in a full or part time capacity.

  • The ideal candidate will be someone who:
  • Has a heart for God and His kids
  • Is equipped to provide daily cleaning tasks, floor refinishing in the summer, and daily floor scrubbing
  • Is able to assist with the set up and take down process for school events
  • Displays an attention to detail and joy in providing a clean, effective, safe learning space for students
  • Has the ability to lift over 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work
  • Possesses exceptional decision-making abilities
  • Is able to collaborate with other support staff, teachers, and members of the inclusive education team
  • Has a servant heart and a passion for Reformed Christian education and faith nurturing

Qualified applicants include those with similar experience in previous positions or the willingness to work hard and learn.

PARAPROFESSIONAL OPENING (PART- OR FULL-TIME):  Do you have a passion for serving God’s kids and want to be part of a vibrant learning community? We are seeking to fill the role of paraprofessional in either a part- or full-time capacity.

  • 1:1 para for a student in 5th Grade (full time position)
  • TK/4Care Para (part-time position)

The ideal candidate for each position will be someone who:

  • Has a heart for God and His kids
  • Is uniquely gifted by God to support students who learn differently
  • Has the ability to creatively meet student needs using a variety of strategies and materials
  • Is able to collaborate with other support staff, teachers, and members of the inclusive education team
  • Feels comfortable reporting progress and information to teachers and inclusive education team members
  • Is willing to work hard and fulfill various tasks in relation to meeting student needs
  • Has an understanding of the Response to Intervention model, or the willingness to learn
  • Has a servant heart and a passion for Reformed Christian education and faith nurturing
Qualified applicants include those with a background in education, psychology, and/or social work as well as other applicable fields.
