7-8 READING TEACHER:  Sioux Center Christian School invites you to consider the opportunity to work with a dedicated faculty and staff, passionate parents, and fantastic students through the position of grades 7-8 reading teacher (3 sections of 7th grade, 3 sections of 8th grade), with a start date of August 1, 2022.

The ideal candidate will be someone who:

  • Has a heart for God and His kids
  • Has the ability to creatively meet student needs using a variety of strategies and materials
  • Is able to collaborate with other teachers, parents, paraprofessionals, school staff, and inclusive education team members
  • Is organized, flexible, patient, responsible, willing to learn, and able to recognize and celebrate students’ gifts
  • Feels comfortable reporting progress and information to administrators, other teachers, and parents
  • Has an understanding of how to use data to discover needs and guide student growth and achievement
  • Is uniquely qualified to teach reading to middle school students
  • Is uniquely qualified to instill a love of reading with middle school students
  • Has an understanding of the Response to Intervention model, or the willingness to learn
  • Has an understanding of the Teaching for Transformation framework, or the willingness to learn
  • Has a passion for Reformed Christian education and faith nurturing

The candidate should have a valid Iowa teaching license that meets the requirements of the position.

PART-TIME ART TEACHER POSITION OPENING (starting 2022-23 school year):  Sioux Center Christian School invites you to consider the opportunity to work with a dedicated faculty and staff, passionate parents, and fantastic students through the position of K-4th grade art teacher, with a start date of August 1, 2022.  The ideal candidate loves God, loves kids, and loves learning. 

You will partner with the current 5th-8th grade art teacher and be responsible for fulfilling the following:

  • Instill a love of God’s creation, design, and beauty in grades K-4 students
  • Teach art classes for K-4th graders (3 sections of each grade level for a total of 15 sections), with each section meeting once weekly
  • Work with school leaders to develop an art curriculum that meets state and national standards
  • Partner with classroom teachers in the development of art curriculum
  • Provide opportunities for students to develop skills in art and to display their art for real audiences
  • Provide opportunities for students to do real work for real people with real needs using the Teaching for Transformation framework

The art position is considered 0.4 FTE and can be combined with other potential positions at SCCS to make a full-time position.

4CARE SPECIALIST:  Sioux Center Christian School invites you to consider the opportunity to work with a dedicated faculty and staff, passionate parents, and fantastic students through the position of 4Care specialist, with a start date of August 1, 2022.

This full-time position will be focused on providing a fantastic experience for students in our 4-year-old program at school.  Students attend 4Care at SCCS when they are not attending preschool.  This person will facilitate the 4Care program, partnering with the director of early childhood to provide a loving, play-based experience for students who come to SCCS when they are not attending preschool.  4Care offers both morning and afternoon sessions for students.

The candidate may have a background in education, psychology, social work, or another related field.  The person will also be supported by another adult in the classroom at various times during the day.  You will be joining a team filled with people who love to collaborate, love to fulfill the school’s mission statement, love to work with students, and love to keep growing.

EARLY CHILDHOOD SPECIALIST:  Sioux Center Christian School invites you to consider the opportunity to work with a dedicated faculty and staff, passionate parents, and fantastic students through the position of early childhood specialist, with a start date of August 1, 2022.

This full-time position will be focused on providing student support in our early childhood classrooms for students with various needs and will also be responsible for coordinating and leading our aftercare program, a growing service for our students and families that needs an excited leader to take the program to the next level.  We intend that the hours for the position will be from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM daily when school is in session.

The ideal candidate loves God, loves kids, loves learning, and has a servant heart and passion for Reformed Christian education.  This full-time, salaried position will partner with faculty and staff and be responsible for fulfilling the following:

  • Oversee students on your caseload
  • Create, implement, and update student behavior plans
  • Help students understand and celebrate their talents and gifts
  • Train faculty and staff in best practices related to behavior and implementing behavior plans
  • Partner with other members of the inclusive education department to meet student needs
  • Provide opportunities for students to do real work for real people with real needs using the Teaching for Transformation framework

We are seeking to fill the role of paraprofessional in either a part- or full-time capacity.

The ideal candidate for each position will be someone who:

  • Has a heart for God and His kids
  • Is uniquely gifted by God to support students who learn differently
  • Has the ability to creatively meet student needs using a variety of strategies and materials
  • Is able to collaborate with other support staff, teachers, and members of the inclusive education team
  • Feels comfortable reporting progress and information to teachers and inclusive education team members
  • Is willing to work hard and fulfill various tasks in relation to meeting student needs
  • Has an understanding of the Response to Intervention model, or the willingness to learn
  • Has a servant heart and a passion for Reformed Christian education and faith nurturing

Northwest Iowa Christian Schools Tuition Organization (NICSTO) Position Opening

The Northwest Iowa Christian Schools Tuition Organization (NICSTO) is seeking applications for a new Director.  Our longtime Director will transition into retirement and train the new hire over the next 12 months.
