Sioux Center Christian School has a rich history of serving the Lord.  Established in 1905, the school has educated students from a Reformed perspective for over 100 years and continues to do so today. 
 
A dedicated faculty, staff, and board enjoy working with His covenant children, fulfilling the mission to disciple God's children by equipping them with a knowledge and understanding of Christ and His creation so that they can obediently serve God and others as they work and play.

SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER

The City of Sioux Center, a dynamic and thriving community, is seeking to hire a full-time School Resource Officer to serve our growing city.

  • This officer will be a visible role model specifically for the Sioux Center Christian School and will maintain a positive presence.  
  • This officer will work in the school during regular school hours handling all complaints on campus and also have the ability to counsel students.  
  • The SRO will use a multi-faceted law enforcement approach while fulfilling additional roles such as teacher, counselor and mentor.  Additionally, this position provides an opportunity for them to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents while enforcing laws to promote a safe learning environment.
  • When school is not in session, the SRO will assist with patrol duties as well as Code Enforcement for the Sioux Center Police Department.

PARAPROFESSIONAL
We are seeking support staff members to join our team as we work to meet the needs of our students:

The ideal candidate for each position will be someone who:

  • Has a heart for God and His kids
  • Is uniquely gifted by God to support students who learn differently
  • Has the ability to creatively meet student needs using a variety of strategies and materials
  • Is able to collaborate with other support staff, teachers, and members of the inclusive education team
  • Feels comfortable reporting progress and information to teachers and inclusive education team members
  • Is willing to work hard and fulfill various tasks in relation to meeting student needs
  • Has an understanding of the Response to Intervention model, or the willingness to learn
  • Has a servant heart and a passion for Reformed Christian education and faith nurturing

Ideal applicants include those with a background in education, psychology, and/or social work or other related fields, but that is not a requirement. A love for God's kids and a willingness to learn is taken under consideration when we hire, plus training for the position is given.

 

AFTERCARE HELPERS

We are seeking caring people who enjoy kids to help with our Aftercare program. Do you find energy in hanging out with kids, helping with homework, playing games, and getting to know God's young disciples? Are you looking for an upbeat, interesting job that is just a couple of hours a day?

Our Aftercare program runs from 3:00-5:00pm M, T, Th, F, and 2:00-5:00pm Wed.

BUS DRIVERS (any combination of route or activity bus driving):  The school will pay for all expenses related to securing a license and/or training costs. 

 

Substitute Teachers needed

We are always in need of more quality substitute teachers/paras.  Looking for individuals who enjoy working with children, can follow instructions provided, and can be flexible with responsibilities. 
 
Responsibilities depend on the needs, but could range from Kindergarten all the way to 8th grade, full or partial days, and could be classroom teacher or paraprofessional. 
Times, dates, and assignments are all depending on your preference – we will work with your schedule and level of comfort.
Teaching degree not required.
