Sioux Center Christian School has a rich history of serving the Lord. Established in 1905, the school has educated students from a Reformed perspective for over 100 years and continues to do so today.

PE TEACHER (for the 26/27 school year)

Sioux Center Christian School invites you to consider the opportunity to work with a dedicated faculty and staff, passionate parents, and fantastic students through the position of PE teacher (full-time), with a start date of August 1, 2026.
If you feel called to be a part of the ministry here at SCCS, we look forward to discussing with you what God is doing through Sioux Center Christian School.
The ideal candidate will teach PE to grades 1-8; 3 sections each. Below are some qualities we are looking for:
- Has a heart for God and His kids
- Has the ability to creatively meet student needs using a variety of strategies and materials
- Is able to collaborate with other teachers, parents, paraprofessionals, school staff, and inclusive education team members
- Is organized, flexible, patient, responsible, willing to learn, and able to recognize and celebrate students’ gifts
- Feels comfortable reporting progress and information to administrators, other teachers, and parents
- Is uniquely qualified to instill a love of learning with students
- Helps students understand and celebrate their talents and gifts
- Has an understanding of the Teaching for Transformation framework, or the willingness to learn
- Has an understanding of the Response to Intervention framework, or the willingness to learn
- Has a passion for Reformed Christian education and faith nurturing
The candidate should have a valid Iowa teaching license that meets the requirements of the position or the ability to gain such a license. You will be joining a team filled with people who love to collaborate, love to fulfill the school’s mission statement, love to work with students, and love to keep growing.
ATHLETIC DIRECTOR (for the 26/27 school year) – starting August 1, 2026 **This can be added on to the Full-Time PE position (with an added stipend) but is not necessary.
The ideal candidate for Athletic Director will:
- Oversees the athletic programs of SCCS, includes training and supporting coaches and refs for each sport/event
- Supervises the home events – including preparing the court/field
- Lead organizer for the Trailblazer Track Meet
- Working with the other local Christian Schools Coaches club
5TH GRADE CLASSROOM TEACHER (for the 26/27 school year)

- The ideal candidate will partner with 2 other members of our 5th Grade Classroom team.
- This position will be teaching Bible and Social Studies to 3 sections of 5th grade

- Is uniquely qualified to teach 4th graders and implement the school’s curriculum
- Is uniquely qualified to instill a love of learning with students

- Has an understanding of the Response to Intervention framework, or the willingness to learn
- Has a passion for Reformed Christian education and faith nurturing

K-4 MUSIC TEACHER/5-8 CHOIR TEACHER (Full-time 2026-27):
Sioux Center Christian School invites you to consider the opportunity to work with a dedicated faculty and staff, passionate parents, and fantastic students through the position of K-4 Music and 5-8 Choir Teacher, with a start date of August 1, 2026.
We are open to splitting this into part-time positions. Please reach out to Kelli Van Roekel if you would have interest in a part-time option.
The ideal candidate loves God, loves kids, loves learning, and has a servant heart and passion for Reformed Christian Education. You will partner with 2 other members of the music department and be responsible for fulfilling the following:
Teach General music classes to K-4 (3 sections of each grade)
- Lead 5-8 Choir
Partner with other music teachers to create performance opportunities for students
Instill in students a love of music, creating music, and learning about music
Help students understand and celebrate their talents and gifts
Implement the school’s music curriculum
Provide opportunities for students to do real work for real people with real needs using the Teaching for Transformation framework
You will be joining a team filled with people who love to collaborate, love to fulfill the school’s mission statement, love to work with students, and love to keep growing. Applicants should be endorsed to teach music in Iowa (or have the ability to gain such an endorsement) and should be familiar with the Teaching for Transformation and Response to Intervention frameworks or the willingness to learn.
Staff Positions Currently Available

PART-TIME COOK – available immediately
- Hours are from 10:00-2:00 Monday through Friday
- Duties would include helping serve the meal to students and some cleanup

BUS DRIVERS (any combination of route or activity bus driving): The school will pay for all expenses related to securing a license and/or training costs.
Substitute Teachers needed
We are always in need of more quality substitute teachers/paras. Looking for individuals who enjoy working with children, can follow instructions provided, and can be flexible with responsibilities.
Responsibilities depend on the needs, but could range from Kindergarten all the way to 8th grade, full or partial days, and could be classroom teacher or paraprofessional.
Times, dates, and assignments are all depending on your preference – we will work with your schedule and level of comfort.
Teaching degree not required.
